How we handle the information you share with us, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, request a call back or subscribe, we collect what you give us: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, and details about the learner such as grade, subject, school, area and preferred lesson times.
Why we collect it
Only to respond to your enquiry, match you with a suitable tutor, arrange and manage lessons, send lesson reports and, if you subscribed, send study tips. We do not sell or rent your information.
Who sees it
Our coordinators, and the tutor we match you with (who receives only what they need to teach). We use trusted service providers to run the website and send email; they process data on our behalf.
Children's information
Where a learner is under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian makes the enquiry or consents to it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to lessons are deleted within 12 months. Records of active learners are kept while lessons continue and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or unsubscribe at any time, by emailing whiztutors@gmail.com or WhatsApping +27 62 420 4922. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
